Gratitude: Recognizing the Impact of the Work We Do

In school-based speech therapy, it can be easy to focus on what still needs to be done.

There are goals to update, meetings to attend, documentation to complete, and students who still need support.

But gratitude helps us pause long enough to notice the meaningful moments happening along the way.

Sometimes gratitude looks like celebrating a student’s breakthrough. Sometimes it looks like appreciating a supportive teammate. Sometimes it is simply recognizing that the work we do matters.

One quality we consistently see in exceptional providers is the ability to recognize both the big and small wins that happen each day.

In educational settings, gratitude can take many forms:

  • Noticing student growth
  • Encouraging teammates and colleagues
  • Celebrating progress that took time and persistence
  • Recognizing the support systems that make the work possible
  • Reflecting on the impact of everyday interactions

While school environments can be busy and demanding, taking time to acknowledge progress and connection can help strengthen both provider well-being and team culture.

At Next Level Speech Therapy, gratitude shapes the way we approach both provider relationships and district partnerships.

We deeply value the relationships we have built with school districts, Special Education Directors, and the clinicians who trust us to help support students and school communities.

Because we are an SLP-owned and operated company, we understand how important it is for providers to feel respected, supported, and valued.

That philosophy impacts the types of partnerships we pursue.

We intentionally seek relationships with districts that value speech-language services and prioritize realistic expectations for providers. We advocate for manageable caseloads and workloads because we believe provider well-being directly impacts student success.

In addition to supporting high-quality placements, we also work hard to provide meaningful benefits and compensation for clinicians.

We are proud to:

  • Operate as a W2 employer
  • Pay providers for both direct and indirect services at the same hourly rate
  • Offer medical, dental, and vision insurance for eligible full-time providers
  • Cover licensure costs and ASHA dues
  • Provide a salary model option for qualifying full-time school-year placements

Most importantly, we never want providers to forget that the work they do truly matters.

The support, encouragement, advocacy, and expertise clinicians bring to students every day can create lasting impact far beyond the therapy room.

At Next Level, we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with professionals who care deeply about students and who bring compassion, persistence, and professionalism into their work each day.

We believe gratitude not only strengthens relationships — it also helps remind us why this work matters in the first place.

It’s hard to find direct hire SLPs, especially when you need one…now. Next Level Speech Therapy makes it easy by helping you find the right fit for your program, so you get an SLP you love, and your students get the services they need.
